Acceptance of terms
By downloading, accessing, or using SlipSide, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use the app. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Description of service
SlipSide is a personal grocery budgeting tool that helps you track spending, scan till slips, and understand where your money goes. SlipSide is not financial advice. It does not provide investment, tax, or professional financial planning services. You are responsible for your own financial decisions.
User accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate registration information and notify us promptly at hello@theslipside.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
Acceptable use
You agree to use SlipSide only for lawful, personal purposes. You must not:
- Use the app for commercial resale or unauthorised bulk data extraction.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disrupt the app or its infrastructure.
- Upload malicious code or interfere with other users’ access to the service.
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person.
Data accuracy
SlipSide relies on manual entry, email parsing, and optical character recognition (OCR) to capture grocery data. These methods may not be 100% accurate. Prices, product names, and totals may be misread or incomplete.
You should independently verify important financial information before making significant spending decisions. SlipSide is a helper tool, not a substitute for your own judgement or professional advice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, SlipSide and Dale Gurney shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including financial loss or decisions made based on app data.
The app is provided “as is” without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim (if any).
Intellectual property
All content, branding, software, and design elements in SlipSide are owned by SlipSide or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the app for personal purposes only. You may not copy, modify, or distribute app materials without our written permission.
Termination
You may stop using SlipSide at any time and request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, misuse the service, or if we discontinue the app. Upon termination, your right to use the app ends immediately, subject to our Privacy Policy regarding data retention.
Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts, unless otherwise required by mandatory law.
